Shakespeare. If you've always wanted
to write a play, here’s your chance.
Over twelve weeks, in an easy and
supportive environment, you will
develop skills towards writing your
own play. During the course we will be
looking at: Developing concepts and
ideas, Narrative and Plot, Form and
Structure, Character development,
Creating authentic dialogue and
Developing a unique style. The tutor, Jo
Egan is the Artistic Director of Macha
Productions, a Belfast based theatre
company, and holds an MFA in
Playwriting from Trinity College Dublin,
Lir Academy.
A creative writing course that offers
skills and techniques for those wishing
to create work for publication or
performance based on personal or
family memoirs. The course supports
the development of the writer as an
artist and provides insight into a
regular practice. This will enable
participants to create unique work. This
course will develop the writer’s skills
through close reading, writing practice
and constructive feedback.
Reading and
Writing Poetry
Speculative fiction is a growing field of
writing but it requires specific skills to
complete a piece of work, be it short or
long. Whether you're writing fantasy,
or science fiction, horror or fairytales,
this course will look at the expectations
of your genre and how to meet those
expectations within your writing. It will
also offer practical advice on the genre
publishing scene, including routes to
publication, the current market and
alternative ways of publishing.
