On Saturday night the Raptors took on the Cougars from Niwot. The 7 seniors,Carter Blink, Cade Call, Sam Schlegel, Hunter Becvar, Khari Harrison, Tristan Tanner were acknowledged before the game and were ready to get a win on senior night. The Raptors set the tempo early climbing to a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter. At the start of the second quarter, Khari Harrison drove to the hoop and threw down a monster dunk over a Niwot defender! The crowd erupted the Raptors then went on a run and Niwot could never recover.Junior guard Trent Dykema said, ” The atmosphere in the gym was amazing, having both student sections there motivated us to make sure we got the win for our student section.” It was a great game for the Raptors as they are currently 19-3 and are ready for the playoffs as they are rapidly approaching.

The girls basketball team took on a tough Longmont team on Thursday, Feb 9, 2017 before the boys in the double header. Being at home helped the Raptors as the last time the two teams met at Longmont the Raptors lost 53-48 despite a run at the game. In this game, the Raptors grabbed an early lead and kept it as they would go on to win 49-45. After this game, the raptors stood at 12-8, 5-6 Northern. This was a much needed conference win for the Raptors as they are playing for a playoff spot and hoping to make a run in the state tournament this year. Silver Creek's Violet Kennedy lead the way with 20 points. The Raptors have conference games against Mountain View, Niwot, and Centaurus.
