Development is delighted to share the results of another successful year, with heartfelt thanks to every donor and volunteer who gave of their time and resources to make it possible. In total, more than $4.7 million was raised by more than 3,800 donors to support Cranbrook Schools in 2015-16. An additional $2 million was raised to support the Horizons-Upward Bound (HUB) program, which was celebrating its 50th year. These totals include:

Over $2.2 million for the Schools Annual Fund;

$1.7 million for capital projects, endowment and Schools programs;

More than $800,000 in event and auxiliary proceeds through the Alumni Association, Booster Club, Bravo, Kaleidoscope, p@rtybook and SCRIP; and

$2 million in operational and endowment support for HUB.

In fall, the school hosted a gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of our Horizons-Upward Bound program. In addition to bringing together nearly 200 alumni, donors and friends, the event raised more than $500,000 for the HUB endowment to help ensure the program’s long-term sustainability.

In May, the Twenty-First Century Club recognized another major milestone – the 40th anniversary of Charlie Shaw, who recently retired from his role as Head of Upper School and joined the Development Office as the Director of Stewardship. Parents Megan and Rick Nini generously hosted the celebration in the Corporate Eagle Airline Hangar, where more than 200 guests gathered to toast – and roast – our beloved Mr. Shaw. The celebration helped inspire more than $1.2 million in commitments to support the recently established Shaw Fund for Student Leadership and Peer Programs.
