Developing the young workforce
NEW KILMARNOCK CAMPUS USED FOR
ENTERPRISE EDUCATION INITIATIVE
currently being built at Hill Street.
The winning design was judged to
come from Cumnock Academy

showcased their concept in a
presentation to Ayrshire College’s
New Campus Project Board.

Seven secondary schools in East
Ayrshire were challenged in
November by leading architectural
practice Keppie Design to design
an inspirational, flexible and open
learning space for Ayrshire
College’s new Kilmarnock campus.
‘Interaction’ is an enterprise
education challenge, in its second
year, which allows youngsters in East
Ayrshire to learn skills and attitudes
to help prepare them for the world of
work. The College is acting as a client
for the pupils as they aim to propose
original ideas for the new campus,
Ayrshire College links up
with Glasgow City
of Science
WE ARE PROUD TO
ANNOUNCE WE ARE NOW
AN OFFICIAL PARTNER OF
GLASGOW CITY OF SCIENCE.
The aim of the affiliation is to
further establish the West of
Scotland as a world-class science
destination.
The College joins an illustrious
list of Glasgow City of Science
partners, which includes
Glasgow City Council, Glasgow
Science Centre and the Scottish
Qualifications Authority. In total,
Glasgow City of Science has 63
official partners.
Ryan Sylvester, divisional director
and head of the team working on the
new college from Keppie Design,
said “The new college building is a
fantastic example of an open,
interactive and collaborative learning
environment. In line with the core
philosophy of Interaction, each
school is invited to propose a design
solution to the set challenge.
“The winning design will form the
basis of the solution which the
college team will implement, with
the winning team remaining part of
the process.”
