AYRSHIRE COLLEGE’S NEW
KILMARNOCK CAMPUS OVER
ONE THIRD COMPLETE
WORK IS PROGRESSING
NICELY ON OUR NEW £53M
KILMARNOCK CAMPUS AS
THE BUILDING WORK
REACHED ANOTHER
IMPORTANT MILESTONE IN
FEBRUARY: ONE THIRD OF
THE WAY THROUGH
COMPLETION.
It is hard to believe that local MSP Willie
Coffey marked the 25 per cent
completion stage as recently as
December! Construction work has now
been going on at the site for 39 weeks.
On track for a May 2016 completion, the
campus on Hill Street will replace the
Holehouse Road campus. The building
will boast sector-leading facilities for
sport and science, technology and
engineering and will also have a vibrant
learning mall with a casual dining
restaurant, health and wellbeing centre,
hair and beauty salon and a learning
resource centre.
Andrew Baillie, the College’s New
Campus Technical Adviser, said “The
steelwork is well underway and the
skeleton of the building is rising from the
ground. Over the coming months the
building will put its jacket on, as
blockwork and cladding starts being
installed. Our main contractor is making
very good progress on site and we’re on
schedule.”
