06 AYRSHIRE UPDATE WORKSTREAM UPDATES MERGER MILESTONES – ACHIEVEMENTS There have been a number of key achievements across each of the workstreams and subgroups since our last edition. We appreciate that there may be a need for a ‘College Merger Dictionary’ to translate some of the language! However there will be elements within the summary that each of you recognise which are critical to the smooth operation of the college from Vesting Day. CURRICULUM WORKSTREAM UPDATE Lots of positive activity across all of the subgroups this month, with engagement on website development, preparation of curriculum documents and designs agreed for signage and staff and student ID badges. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT It has been a productive month, with Vice Principals appointed and a new Student President elected. • Papers for the merger laid in Parliament on 31 May • Formal requests for consent for name change to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and to the Cabinet Secretary • Vice Principals appointed for Corporate Services, Learning and Teaching, HR/Organisational Wellbeing • Student President and Vice Presidents appointed • Transfer of Kilwinning Campus PFI to Ayrshire • Transition plans for Regional Board in place EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT QUALITY • Employer Engagement Strategy approved by Curriculum workstream • Key quality assurance and enhancement policies, procedures and processes required for Vesting Day have been drafted for approval by lead workstreams • Regional Database available for inclusion in integrated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system • Regional policy template drafted for approval by lead workstreams • Curriculum and HR/OD working together to identify resource needs • Curriculum Sharing Days well received • Safeguarding subgroup established LEARNER SERVICES CURRICULUM • Business Training Directory finalised • Accreditation and approval requirements received from awarding bodies • ICT team supporting library integration plan for Vesting Day • Moodle / VLE links included in new website development plan • Regional Induction process finalised SCHOOLS • Stakeholder engagement session well received on 7 June MIS / STUDENT RECORDS MARKETING • Brand Guidelines distributed to staff to allow preparation of AY 2013-14 curriculum documents • Signage designs confirmed for all Ayrshire campus buildings • Staff and Student ID badge design agreed • Best practice review and mapping of learner support provision across the three colleges complete • Regional PLSP (Personal Learning Support Plan) agreed for use with review of online PLSPs included in website development plan • Student login format agreed • Started Website development with links for Admissions, MIS, Library, VLE, Schools Portal, landing page for employers/stakeholders LEARNER SUPPORT • Regional database developed • Interim and long term plans agreed for student record system • Consultants working with MIS Teams to migrate data and set up new databases • Solutions agreed for Attendance and Resource Management and Reporting – training scheduled in June
