24 AUTUMN 2015 Celebrating Success Student Success A former student achieved a 2:1 degree thanks to The Open University’s combined social sciences degree which is delivered in partnership with Ayrshire College. Rebecca Brown opted to take The Open University course when she found that the traditional university route did not suit her. It was only when she was made aware of The Open University’s offering, where students study part-time and use the College as their study base, that Rebecca realised she would be able to get her degree after all. Rebecca had already gained an HND in Social Science at the College. Now Rebecca has got her qualification, she has plans to enter either the police force or become a lecturer.
