Inspiring Achievement
Hairdressing summer school
THE COLLEGE HELD A
SUMMER SCHOOL THIS YEAR
FOR 15 HARD WORKING
HAIRDRESSERS.
Students from all levels of
hairdressing across different
campuses came together
and worked well as a team to
develop their skills for future
study. They had a fantastic
opportunity to showcase
their skills and passion for
hairdressing.
One of the students who
took part in the summer
school was NC Hairdressing
Level 5 student Paul McLavin.
He originally trained to be a
dancer, working for several
years both in the UK and
abroad.
After getting the chance
to work at London Fashion
Week, he discovered
that he had an interest in
hairdressing.
Paul McLavin originally trained as a dancer before
studying NC Level 5 Hairdressing with us.
Paul said “I knew that
hairdressing was the career
for me. When I moved
back to Scotland, I wanted
to retrain as I didn’t want
to be a dancer forever, so
coming to Ayrshire College
made perfect sense. The
summer school is great as I’m
gaining extra experience. I
have ambitions to complete
hairdressing at the highest
level at college, then join a
top salon.”
