“ The name perfectly reflects the premise behind the venue - a sustainable and highly flexible blank canvas space ”
flat , exclusive and flexible expanse of 650sqm for up to 400 delegates , you can even drive a car through it . Warwick Conferences has a new venue , The Slate , available for exclusive use . The £ 5.3m venue has a BREEAM Excellent rating and Food for Life menu accredited by the Soil Association , and a lakeside location . Rachael Bartlett , head of sales and marketing at Warwick Conferences , says the name , The Slate , “ perfectly represents the premise behind the venue – a sustainable and highly flexible blank canvas space , which can be adapted in whichever way is necessary to provide the exact experience a client is looking for ”. “ People ’ s conference , training and meeting needs are changing ,” she adds . “ Serving those needs isn ’ t simply about delivering four walls , a flip chart and some food , but delivering an experience . That experience involves providing the space to debate , engage , resolve , share , challenge and learn : the possibilities are endless .” The Warwick Conferences team says demand for the new venue is so strong that they ’ ve had to postpone the anticipated official launch event to accommodate . Agents and clients keen to check out The Slate can apply for a bespoke visit to see the new venue which offers space for 400 seated delegates and is available on an exclusive use basis . The Warwick events team says its meeting spaces are less about ‘ command and control ’, and more about ‘ collaboration and inspiration ’.
“ Whatever the activity , you ’ ll do it better in the right setting . That ’ s why we ’ ve designed an innovative range of feature rooms that re-define the typical box-room meeting experience ,” the team says . The Slate offers opportunities for a creative huddle round the table in The Kitchen over lunch , or to brief 200 in the lecture theatre . In the brainstorm room it ’ s one big whiteboard , while the informal boardroom is designed for more relaxed exchanges . “ People arriving as strangers will leave as a team , a network , a force to be reckoned with ,” is the claim . The Slate complements existing venues at the University of Warwick : Scarman , Radcliffe , Arden and Conference Park , all of which accommodate both day and residential events .
