Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company is excited to offer 3 fantastic seed catalogs for the 2016 growing season. The largest is the Whole Seed Catalog at a whopping 356 pages and the largest that we have ever created. This spectacular catalog is filled with our 2016 seed offerings, as well as many pages of stories and histories about seeds, magnificent photographs, human interest stories, anecdotes from gardeners, and so much more. The Whole Seed Catalog is the only catalog for which we charge a fee. It is available on our website www.rareseeds.com, at Barnes and Noble, Whole Foods Market, and multiple other retailers. Our second catalog available is our 196-page Rare Seed Catalog. While it contains the mouthwatering photographs of our produce and flowers, it does not have all of the feature and human interest articles of our larger catalog. This catalog is automatically sent to all of our regular customers who placed an order of $10 or more during the past 18 months. The Rare Seed Catalog includes all of our heirloom seed offerings but is not available by request. The Good Seed Catalog is our newest endeavor in the seed catalog world. It is a toned-down version of our other catalogs and is free to anyone who requests it. While it does not contain all of our seed and live plant listings, it does include our most popular heirloom varieties with complete descriptions and photographs. Baker Creek is on the cutting edge of saving plant diversity. Company owner, Jere Gettle, got into the seed business because he was watching some of his favorite seed varieties disappear from seed catalogs. His passion is discovering old varieties and offering them anew. He loves to travel to far-off lands to discover what is growing on other continents, and then to bring those seeds back to the United States and to get excited about people here growing them. This year Baker Creek is offering more than 170 new varieties of seeds and live plants for sale. That means Baker Creek carries one of the largest selections of seeds from the 19th century, including many Asian and European varieties. 41
