Strategic Plan Road Map
The County Board adopts a strategic plan that is used to help guide the future of the county.
In 2008, the Lake County Board engaged the
public in its strategic planning process for the
first time, holding six community forums and
using the input to help develop its mission,
vision, values and five strategic goals.
The County continually tracks and evaluates progress
toward its Strategic Plan using performance metrics to
drive strategic decision-making.
In 2013, the County Board updated its
strategic plan and obtained input from the
public and stakeholders
The County’s various
departments shared
input on new issues,
trends, challenges,
and opportunities,
and also identified
what the County
needed to do to
address these factors.
The County held another round of
community forums and collected
public input into the strategic plan.
Citizens also provided input
through various online tools on
the County’s website
(www.lakecountyil.gov).
The County Board reviewed all of
the input and developed a strategic
plan that reflects the new
environment and citizens’ priorities.
The plan includes specific
measurable goals, strategies, and
actions.
Lake County will
generate progress
reports to track the
plan’s effectiveness and
the County will
communicate the
results.
