PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Upcoming Events at the CMA CMA Chamber Music on Main Thursday, February 13, and Thursday, March 13 | 7:00 p.m. Music plus art equals a magical experience with this critically acclaimed chamber concert series featuring world-renowned artistic director Edward Arron. The February 13 concert features Benjamin Hochman, piano, Arnaud Sussmann, violin, Max Mandel, viola, and Edward Arron, cello, performing music by Mozart, Brahms, Mahler/Schnittke, and Schumann. On March 13, Pedja Muzijevic, piano, Tessa Lark, violin, Erin Keefe, violin and viola, Edward Arron, cello, and Kurt Muroki, double bass, perform compositions by Rossini, Bartók, Mark O’Connor, and Schubert. $40 / $30 for members and $5 for students. Artist Salon Series: Columbia City Ballet Friday, March 14 | Noon These intimate gallery talks with local artists are about personal connections to work in the exhibitions as well as experiences as a working artist – some of it controversial, some of it funny, all of it inspiring. In this installment, join Columbia City Ballet’s Artistic and Executive Director William Starrett as he discusses his creative process when staging their upcoming performance of Alice in Wonderland. Under the leadership of Starrett, the Columbia City Ballet produces what critics have described as “some of the highest quality cultural entertainment in the Southeast.” Salon talk is free with membership or admission. The Contemporaries Fire & Ice Ball Friday, January 24 | 8:00 p.m. – Midnight The Fire & Ice Ball is the Contemporaries’ annual premier event that fuses elements of classic Contemporaries soirees with new and exciting additions. The night begins with a silent art auction, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing to the band, Finesse, and ends with dancing and music from local DJ Bois Obscur. Guests are encouraged to don “cocktail chic” attire.
