The medium of monotype has been favored by artists since the seventeenth century. Rembrandt, Picasso, Matisse, Degas, Chagall, and Gauguin all explored this medium. Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities. Painter and printmaker Claire Farrell received her training from Duke University, the University of South Carolina, Santa Raparata Art School in Florence, Italy, and Penland School of Craft and Design. She has studied extensively with Ron Pokrasso, a master printmaker and teacher from Santa Fe. This class is open to teens and adults. $100 / $80 for members. All supplies included.
