Developing and expanding opportunities
to engage youth, families, and schools
with the collection is vital to the CMA’s
growth in its commitment to build lifelong
learners through exceptional art education
programming.
The newly designed Wells Fargo Education
Gallery is an interactive space for children
to learn about fine art while they play in a
fun, hands-on environment. In the gallery,
three interactive areas are centered on
works of art from the collection that guide
children in creative thinking and playful
activities. The free and accessible area has
been a unique place for families to get out
of the heat this summer and directly learn
and have fun with the art.
“The collection is a core resource we use to
develop all our programs,” says Director
of Education Kerry Kuhlkin-Hornsby.
“Everything is based on it. The art here
can be used to teach across curriculums to
educate children and adults about art, as
well as science, technology, engineering,
and math. Our amazing collection really is
a portal to see the world.”
