RECENT ACQUISITION
A Still Life for the Columbia Museum of Art
important attorneys in North Carolina. He
focused on the needs of youth at risk, and
his work resulted in crucial improvements to
legal system there.
In addition to this serendipity, the
Columbia Museum’s chief curator, Will
South, is the author of the 1994 book,
Guy Rose: American Impressionist. For Doris
Bason, it was as if the stars had aligned for
Rose’s painting: the Columbia Museum of
Art had to be its permanent home.
