John Trumbull Professor at Yale University, discusses the exhibition. Thompson has devoted his life to studying art history in the Afro-Atlantic world and has numerous published books. He is America’s most prominent scholar of African art, and has presided over exhibitions of African art at the National Gallery in Washington D. C.
