NEUNABER IMMERSE REVERBERATOR Jack Mao
Key Features Studio Quality Reverb
Allows Control of Reverb Tail
Echo Time 50ms-750ms
The Neunaber Immerse Reverberator is a studio quality reverb effects pedal and is the latest offering from Orange , California based Neunaber Audio Effects Company . The pedal accepts both mono and stereo inputs and output which means you can use mono or stereo unbalanced ¼ cables on both inputs as well as a Stereo TRS cable on channel two . The manual suggests the Immerse Reverberator be placed at the end of your signal chain
and further suggests that if you are using the overdrive channel of your amplifier or tend to use distortion a lot , that you use your amplifiers low gain input for best results . There are four rotary switches at the top of the unit that are labeled FX Level , Depth , Tone and a Modulation Control that behaves differently depending on what effect is selected . The Immerse Reverberator gives you a variety of traditional reverb types including Wet , Hall , Plate and Spring . You also get three more specialized effects called Shimmer A & B , Echo and Detune .
The Wet setting is likely going to be the “ goto ” setting for most users buying the pedal for a pedal board based reverb effect . You can control the effect FX level , depth , tone and the overall effect modulation . You can also control the overall reverb tail via the “ Trails ” switch and if you are running your effects loop in parallel , the overall wet / dry mix via the FX level .
The Hall Reverb setting gives you a larger , more expansive sound ( the four controls controlling the same parameters as the Wet setting ). The Plate setting has a more bright tonal quality to it . In this case , the depth control ( the length of the reverb tail ) delay switch acts as a pre-delay and controls the delay time before the Reverb . The Spring Reverb setting features FX Level , depth , tone controls plus you also get a low cut filter that controls the attenuation of the frequencies in the reverb only . You also get three more specialized effects ; Shimmer A & B which actually follows what
you ’ re playing on your guitar and it is aptly named “ Shimmer ” ( very cool !). There is also an Echo effect that creates a very nice combination of echo and reverb effects ( the Echo effect interacts with the Wet Reverb setting ). You can control delay ( Echo ) time from 50ms – 750ms as the overall mix between the echo and reverb level . Finally , there is a Detune effect Wet Reverb setting that creates essentially a chorusing effect . It creates an additional detuned double of the dry signal .
It would be cool if Neunaber had built-in a switchable control between the Reverb and Detune effects allowing you to toggle in and out of the Reverb effect in the Echo and Detune effects . I particularly like the Echo / Delay setting , which is the kind of patch I would tend to just leave on during a set and dial in other effects on top of it ( with or without the Reverb effect ).
That aside , the Nuenaber Immerse Reverberator is a professional level reverb effect pedal that is reasonably priced and gives you a lot of bang for your buck .
