cable . It ’ s not for everyone ( it is in a pro-price range ), but it ’ s great . Pure tone is the thing that comes to mind .
Recording lately I have been using the Antares ATG-1 guitar modeling system . You have to use a Roland 13 pin pickup with it . It ’ s pretty rad because of the very cool things that you can do with it . And it ’ s always in tune . I ’ m starting to do some different string pitch bends with it , like where the high E goes up a whole step , the B goes up a half step , and the G goes down a whole step … all with the sweep of the
pedal . Think of the possibilities !
I have some cool old amps too … a ‘ 73 Marshall Super Lead - 100 watts . Man , how did we ever play through those in clubs years ago ? It ’ s loud ! It sounds great but it is loud ! ( laughing ) I have a few old tweed Fender Pro Juniors too . I love those amps ; I love EL 84 ’ s . There ’ s something about them that ’ s inviting . With that said , the last two records of mine and a host of others that I ’ ve produced have all been done with the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx , and now the AX8 .
