IT’S time to get all of your ducks in a row
because the annual Kingscliff Rotary
Duck Race is back.
On October 26 Ed Parker Rotary Park
at Cudgen Creek will be rampant with
rubber duckies racing for some top
prizes, including a ripper new car.
Kingscliff Rotary secretary Nathan
Williams said things would be a little bit
different this time around with a “dog”
paddleboard race added to the event.
“It should be highly entertaining and it’s
new to the community event,” he said.
The day, which kicks off from 9am, will
include a delicious sausage sizzle, face
painting and more fun activities for the
whole family.
“It’s such a great event for families. I think
the duck race makes everyone feel like
a kid because of the fun atmosphere
and the sigh of crowd as more than 1000
community ducks hit the water,” he said.
Mr Williams said the growth of the duck
race had blown him out of the water
and it took a lot of teamwork to see the
event to fruition.
“It’s a big day for our Rotary Club.
Planning starts six months out usually with
licences applied for, duck stocktake
and, most importantly, selling the ducks.
We’re really putting on a big event so
we can show the community a great
reward for their generous support.”
