At NORTEC, we
acknowledge the
value of work in
creating a healthy,
vibrant community.
That’s why we
strive to create
opportunities and
inspire futures for
our local jobseekers
by truly listening
to understand
and seeking real
solutions for
both jobseekers
and employers
in our region.
We offer a range of recruitment services,
including commercial labour hire and Australian
Government funded no-fee recruitment services.
Our Disability Employment Services division are
a special team at NORTEC who assist persons
with a disability into meaningful employment.
Usually it only takes a few minor modifications
(which we can assist with) to enable jobseekers
to work happily and reap the benefits that work
can bring, not just financially but emotionally
and physically – and their employer reaps the
benefit of a loyal employee!

The
Pillars of
Workplace Happiness:
1. Look for meaning in your job.
Typically it is there, you just might not
see it. Are you merely a bricklayer or are
you building a hospital?
2. Search and volunteer for jobs and
tasks that use your talents and those
that you find engage you.
3. Set goals that you find are
meaningful. Celebrate (and reward
yourself) for achieving those goals and
for career accomplishments.
4. Work hard to develop good
interpersonal relationships on the
job. Put energy into those relationships,
in the same way that you would put
energy into a friendship.
5. Try to focus on the positives. Be
optimistic. Wear a smile (you will be
surprised at how this will both make
you happy and improve the moods of
those around you).
When it comes down to it we are all
responsible for not just our own but for
others happiness in the workplace. Be
kind, mindful and look out for others in
your workplace while focussing on your
career objectives.
