FROMTHEEDITOR The year is getting busier and busier – and shows no signs of letting up as we draw nearer to The FIT Show (which we are now automatically starting to call “the awardwinning FIT Show”!) We feature many of the companies that between them will be ensuring the event is even more informative and enjoyable, as the first one. According to reports from two of our directors, Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg more than lived up to its reputation for fabulous hospitality, and also managed to present some genuine product innovation on an international scale. With our first Clearview (Locksmith Journal) exhibition being planned, it was good to pick up ideas and inspiration from this event – as it will be at FIT in June. Learn from the masters, that’s what we say! Coventry’s Ricoh Arena was the focus in April for the very well-supported Triple Glazing Question event, hosted by Edgetech (a Quanex company) and neatly compered by Edgetech MD Andy Jones. Some of the answers to the many interesting and pertinent questions raised during the event did, perhaps, surprise Andy - and representatives of other supporting companies, because the answers clearly demonstrated a keen industry awareness at every level, that was not entirely expected. The event was primarily organised to “educate and inform” the industry and stimulate interest also to raise concerns with them in the Expert Arena on the same day. Also in this issue, Martin Dickie, Business Unit Director, Door-Stop examines what innovation really means in a light-hearted article that nonetheless goes straight to the crux of the matter.
