CONSERVATORIES INTERSTITIAL VENETIAN BLINDS Interstitial or integrated Venetian blinds are designed for use within double glazed units. The revolutionary system encapsulates the entire Venetian blind within the sealed unit. They are manufactured in accordance with high technical specifications and stringent production standards required of sealed unit production lines. The slat raising/lowering and tilting/turning functions are achieved using magnetic controls sliding along the side of the installed sealed units. The controls are permanent and comprise nickel-plated Neodymium magnets. These magnets are rare-earth magnets made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron. The magnetic transmission through the glass, guarantees the unit’s hermetic seal and thus the mechanism is impervious to damage dirt and pets and children! An electrically operated system with options including solar panel charging, battery pack and remote control is also available. Integrated Venetain blinds are ideal for bifolding and sliding doors, and perfect for conservatories. They provide a blind that is incorporated within in the sealed unit and moves with the door or window. Benefits include: • A stylish and safe blind solution • An improvement in acoustics • Additional privacy due to the edge-to-edge slats • An improvement in energy ratings through a reduction in heat and solar glare • A blind that is totally sealed within double glazed unit without compromising the integrity of the hermetic seal thus oblivious to dust, moisture and abuse • There are no looped cords to get tangles, dirty or fall off the unit. Cords also have the disadvantage of presenting a possible safety risk for children or pets. • A magnetic drive system which is easy to operate and gives longevity and safety over the cord operated systems. The magnets retain their magnetic properties, are hygienic and are simple and quick to operate. • Suitability for residential, commercial, educational and medical environments The UK Agent for the Holis brand of integrated Venetian blinds is Sunshade Blind Systems, based in Corby. A fully qualified and experienced sprayer, Dean offers the perfect combination of spraying, both in-house and on site, as well as mobile cosmetic rectification work. 80 JUN 2014 “We have well-equipped workshops to handle any in-house jobs but much of our work is also carried out on-site,” Dean explained. “In-house we spray windows to any colour required prior to installation – Farrow & Ball colours are currently much in demand. We offer a 10 year guarantee on pre-installation trade work. “We also can repair the slight damage that sometimes occurs to windows during transit. Foils do get scratched, aluminium can get dented - and for this kind of thing we can provide a cost-effective and rapid service which the trade finds invaluable. “On-site we carry out a lot of cosmetic rectification work. For example, people often leave keys in their aluminium bi-folding doors and this causes dents when the doors are concertinered. We can go on-site and repair these without the hassle of removing and replacing the whole installation. It makes good sense for the supplier, the installer and the home owner.” Dean knows his stuff: he is a qualified sprayer on all materials and has worked in the PVCu colour coating industry and, unlike most sprayers, he also has considerable experience in specialist cosmetic rectification. He carries out cosmetic repair work on different materials – even stone. “Sometimes there can be damage to material such as stone during installation, but we can put this right, no problem. “We travel all over the country – recent jobs took us to London and Dundee –because there just doesn’t seem to be anybody else doing what we do. We believe ours is a unique skillset – a three way service encompassing inhouse spraying, on-site work and also cosmetic rectification for which there is a growing demand.” For more information Tel: 01924 416882 or visit www.colour-tec.co.uk To read more, visit www.clearview-uk.com
