ALUMINIUM Aluminium domestic renaissance to continue, says report A report into the future of the aluminium sector reveals an optimistic outlook for the industry, with aluminium installers expecting domestic demand for the material to rise this year and beyond. Aluminium supplier CDW Systems commissioned Insight Data to carry out the report, which asked 5,657 UK respondents their thoughts on the future of the industry and factors currently affecting their business. Installers were asked whether they would rather buy from a specialist supplier or multiple material fabricator - 88.24 % said the former. Respondents were also asked what improvements they’d like their supplier to make; 72.22 % would like to see faster leads time and 44 % want service to improve. 72.22 % said that the aluminium product they install most is bi- folding doors, with 83.33% saying standard windows. I61.11 % said that they mainly operated in the domestic sector, 38.89 % in the commercial sector. Asked whether installers have confidence buying from a supplier with under three years of manufacturing aluminium experience - 70.59 % said no. 83.33 % expect domestic demand for aluminium to increase in the coming five years.
