New Thermobar Duplex Sizes
Thermoseal Group, manufacturer of
Thermobar and Thermoflex warm edge
spacers and leading UK insulated glass
component supplier, has introduced new
sizes to its range of Duplex fittings for
Thermobar warm edge spacer.
Previously available in 11.5x15mm,
11.5x18mm, 15.5x15mm, and 15.5x18mm,
the range of Thermobar Duplex centre keys
and edge keys has been expanded to include
fittings in 7.5x18mm and 9.5x18mm. All
sizes are available in Black, Grey, and Neutral
colours. The Duplex keys are used to produce
a sealed unit with Georgian style features that
has the appearance of being constructed from
Thermobar Duplex fittings are tailor made

– fitted back to back on the centre keys

manufacturer to create a Georgian effect

Peterborough factory
is all Glass Systems go!
The UK’s largest sealed unit manufacturer,
the Glass Systems Group, has opened a new
40,000 sq ft factory in Peterborough and in
less than a month, is already manufacturing
an impressive 3,000 units per week.

Called Glass Systems East Anglia, the new
division is headed up by IGU sales director
Mervyn Raby and production manager Khaled
Elleboudy. The site is equipped with two
Lenhardt Bystronic IGU lines, one of which is
capable of producing units as large as 4000mts
by 2700mts, while the other has a tandem gas
press capable of producing units at high speed.
Lisec has supplied all cutting and bending
machinery.
Mervyn Raby comments: “The first phase
is to supply sealed units into Esse x, Norfolk
and East Anglia area on a daily basis, and
to deliver into cities like Norwich twice a
day with a special delivery service for urgent
remakes.
“Phase 2 will be to establish a northern
route up the A1 to towns and cities like
Barnsley, Sheffield, Leeds and other large
northern cities. The final phase will be to
venture further north to the Sunderland and
Newcastle areas.”

Glass Express Midlands
Ltd Increases Capacity
to Gas Fill IG Units
Glass Express Midlands Ltd has purchased
additional equipment to increase its
capacity to gas fill insulated glass (IG)
sealed units.
MD Bill Singh explains: “Having already
purchased an NM3 Multigas Filler from
Thermoseal Group, we purchased an
additional NM2 Argon Fast-fill machine. We
currently gas fill approximately 75% of our

units and now have further capacity to gas fill
all units with both Argon and other gases as
customers require.
“We offer a full package of products
including warm edge and gas filled units with
many Georgian options, as well as units with
integrated blind plus a wide range of options
to ensure that we remain competitive.
“Our warm edge option is Thermobar
which we chose due to its excellent thermal
values as well as its handling advantages. Our
customers also like the look of the finished
product.”
“Our current capacity is approximately 800
units per day. We now have approximately
30,000 Sq. Ft. of manufacturing space and
following an investment of around £2 million
we can meet a broad range of customer
requirements.”
