COMPOSITE SHOW STOPPERS Solidor yet again stole the FIT Show with a sizzling display of composite door innovation with 17 colours on show, new Winkhaus hardware, additional customer service initiatives and the launch of the exceptional Solidor 88 and Residence 9 doors. Alongside their front of house stand, a further 14 Solidor doors were on other exhibitors stands. The second FIT Show proved that product innovation is part of the DNA for the glazing industry and Solidor again cemented their status as the pioneers and innovators in composite door design. The new Solidor 88 launched at FIT, which harness a 62mm solid hardwood slab combined with a KBE 88 door frame, achieving a centre pane U-value of just 0.9 W/m2K with the option of further developments to create a true Passivhaus solution. The new dedicated Residence 9 door frame is 100mm deep and again harnesses the 62mm slab and was well received. Solidor was a launch partner with Winkhaus in April for the patented blueMatic AV2-B battery operated automatic multipoint locking system, which was hugely popular, with no evidence of any other company in the sector featuring this impressive locking system. SMART MEASURE APP DRAWS CROWDS Business Micros Aluminium had a great response to the launch of its new Smart Measure App at the FIT show. Smart Measure allows LogiKal users to survey contracts out on site using their iPhone or iPad and automatically import the data and photographs from that survey into their LogiKal aluminium processing software – saving time and improving accuracy. The app was certainly the product generating the biggest buzz amongst www.solidor.co.uk visitors to the Business Micros Aluminium stand but there was also considerable interest in the latest version of LogiKal (v.9), which was being previewed with a number of new features including dual screen processing. A delighted Dean Hodges, Business Micros Aluminium MD said: “Existing LogiKal users loved the latest innovations coming through for the software and we’re expecting to see many of them downloading and registering the app soon. “We even signed up a customer at the show who was buying a machine link so it was a real success and we’ll certainly be back again in 2016. Our stand builders and designers QDos deserve credit for delivering a stand which achieved all twe had hoped.” Tel: 01684 851230, www.bmaluminium.co.uk BUSINESS MICROS MAKES A STATEMENT AT FIT In what is on course to be a record year for Business Micros, the company made a real statement at the FIT show of its position as the market leading software provider. With a large, impressive stand which was busy throughout the three days, Business Micros showed not only its success so far but also its commitment to further developments in the future. MD Graeme Bailey: “This was a chance for us to demonstrate the quality, service and professionalism which has helped 86 us to achieve so much in this industry. We had really positive comments from existing and potential visitors who came to the stand and from fellow exhibitors which was very pleasing.” At FIT, Business Micros was previewing two new apps for composite door designs and for its EvoNet business management software. These were being demonstrated to get feedback from visitors before launch to ensure that they meet the very latest market demands. The company was also giving a sneak preview of its Nexus project – the next generation of software being developed at its Dumfriesshire programming centre.
