INDUSTRYNEWS The Next Generation of Coloured Frames ‘completely overwhelmed’ MIKE’S TRIBUTE RAISES £16,000 FOR HOSPICE Big-hearted individuals in this industry regularly raise funds for charitable causes in all kinds of ways, but the recent achievements of Emplas MD, Mike Crewdson, are both impressive and touching. Mike completed a 200 mile coast-to-coast walk across the North of England in just 10 days to raise more than £16,000 – almost double his original target - for St Ann’s Hospice in Manchester. Taking on the challenge in memory of his late wife Rosemary, Mike set out, supported by colleagues from the window industry, from St Bees on the Irish Sea on the second anniversary of Rosemary’s death on 21 May. He said: “We all know just how special this industry is and how many great people there are within it, but I have to say that I have been completely overwhelmed by the support I received both from the team at Emplas and the industry at large. It’s allowed us to exceed our targets and raise in excess of £16,000 for what I know through personal experience, to be an exceptional charity.
