[email protected] SPONSORING DOORS&WINDOWS MORE OVERSEAS BUSINESS »»CELEBRATIONS HAVE been taking place at Hurst Plastics as the company’s export division toasts its most successful quarter of international trading in the last five years. The Kingston-upon-Hull based firm has established a strong presence in all four corners of the globe with an increasing number of international customers coming on board. Tony Appleyard, Hurst Plastics’ Export Sales Development Manager, says: “It’s been a very productive time for the export department as we gain market share across Europe, into the Middle East and beyond. We’ve been developing and winning new business and have shipped some sizeable orders of door panels into fresh territories. It’s extremely encouraging that we are forging international trade links with more and more overseas customers and increasing our global market share when many companies are shrinking away from export. European demand for Hurst door panels has rapidly risen and the company now exports to more than 15 European countries. The growth signals a shift within the market as more European door suppliers switch from sourcing panels from cheaper Eastern European suppliers in favour of quality British panels. Hurst has just dispatched over 600 door products to Poland, the company’s biggest export to the region, and is currently working on another large order. Hurst has steadily increased its presence in the Middle East and now exports to a number of affluent territories where construction is at an all-time high. Hurst recently shipped a container of 160 door panels 3,500 miles to Oman. The doors will be installed at a hotel in a busy tourist destination. Hurst has also won new business in the Bahamas, Australia and South Africa, fulfilling significant orders for new customers in Nassau, Victoria and Cape Town. A selection of Hurst doors has just been shipped 10,500 miles to Victoria, Australia. The long distance shipment included panels from Hurst’s Modern collection of HIGH QUALITY TRADE SUPPLIER contemporary, continental style doors. Demand for the range, which is available in coloured, white or wood grain PVCu and features modern stainless steel trims, is growing in the Australian market. Mark Atkinson, Hurst Plastics’ Sales and Marketing Director, added: “I am delighted with the performance of the export department, which has delivered impressive growth against its budget.” www.hurst-plastics.co.uk PVCu & ALUMINIUM SYSTEMS TRADE WINDOWS BRISTOL Supplying high quality, bespoke products to the south of England.
