Midlands PGA Trophy pro-am
golf tournament that took place
on 7-8 July at Wellingborough
Golf Club, the 11th year in
a row that the company has
supported the event, which once

again turned out to be a hugely
enjoyable sporting and social
occasion for all those who took
part.
The tournament, which this
year was offering a £3,000
professional prize fund, plus
four nearest to the pin prizes

and an evening of first class food
and entertainment, was won
by Retford Golf Club’s James
Freeman, with a score of 69 (3
under par). The winning pro-am
team score was 12 under par and
consisted of Stephen Etheridge,
Dean Buckley and Trevor Smith
along with professional, Ashley
Johnson.
A number of Glazerite’s
customers also took part in
the team event, including City
Glass, Cheadle Glass, Enviroglass
SW, K2 Aluminium, Frames

Conservatories Direct, Mews
Windows, Symphony, Goliath
Homeworld and Welland
Valley.

Major result for golf pro Ryan Evans
»»GLAZERITE SPONSORED GOLF PRO,
Ryan Evans, has celebrated his first major
by finishing 58th overall at the recent Open
Championship at Royal Troon.
It’s a fantastic result for the 29-year old
Northamptonshire player, who had no
previous experience of playing on the famous
Ayrshire links venue, and who only turned
pro in 2014 after giving up his previous
job of working in a call centre selling Avon
Cosmetics.
Glazerite has been a main sponsor of Ryan,
who made his professional debut at the 2014
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, for the
last couple of years, helping him rise from the

amateur ranks to his current world ranking of
538.

to know Ryan at Wellingborough Golf Club
when he was making a name for himself as an
amateur, so it’s been fantastic to watch him
progress to his first major at Royal Troon –
