Withstanding the Force
Secured by Design (SBD), is the official UK Police
flagship initiative set up in essence with the objective
of ‘designing out crime’ and focuses on the design
and security for new and refurbished homes,
commercial premises and car parks, reducing the
vulnerability of people by removing security issues
that may be inherent in existing product design.
»»SFS intec is committed to
producing exceptional products that are
compliant with regulations and by working
with SBD to design products that exceed
current standards.
In fact, in recent PAS-024 testing held at a
UCAS approved test centre earlier this year, a
PVCu residential door fitted with SFS intec’s
Dynamic 2D hinges, withstood 14kN - more
than three times the force required to pass the
test.
By using SFS intec hinges, installers benefit
from ease of adjustment and get the peace of
mind that they will not be required to rectify
future problems due to failing hinges.
Dynamic 2D hinges not only far exceed the
demands of PAS 024 (SBD), but also offers a
4mm downward adjustment to cater for the
increased use of low thresholds.
Pheonix Doors, one of the UK’s leading
independent PVCu and GRP composite
door manufacturer has now changed the
specification of all its products to feature
both the Dynamic 2D and the Dynamic
2D-F, which is a custom hinge offering all the
benefits of the Dynamic 2D for flush doorsets.
Phoenix Doors Sales Director, Haydon
Statham commented: “We have every
confidence Dynamic 2D and 2D-F will
prove a success with our range of doors. As a
company, we manufacture in excess of 1400
PVCu door panels per week and 400 GRP
composite doors. We always aim to deliver
quality products.”
Distinction Doors, one of the largest
composite door slab suppliers in the UK,
chose to switch specification to SFS intec’s
Dynamic 2D hinge for use on its new 70mm
twin rebate composite door.
Dave Walker, Technical Director at
Distinction Doors commented: “When
selecting a hinge, it was important that we
chose a manufacturer with a reliable and
high performance product which would pass
the testing requirements of PAS-24, whilst
‘a PVCu residential door fitted with SFS intec’s
Dynamic 2D hinges, withstood 14KN - more than
three times the force required to pass the test’
providing high end aesthetic appeal with
adjustability to aid installers.”
“The attractive, slimline design and
easy adjustability meant this hinge nicely
complimented the door-set. We tested the
hinge on our 70mm composite door leaf
secured to a PVCu outer frame, and found
it could pass PAS-24 test requirements with
ease.”
‘the Dynamic 2D hinge has
rapidly become one of the
market-leading hinges for
PVCu and twin rebated
composite door-sets’
The Dynamic 2D hinge has rapidly
become one of the market-leading hinges for
PVCu and twin rebated composite door-sets.
Dynamic 2D-F shares the same aesthetic and
installation principles to offer consistency and
familiarity in fabricator product ranges and
production processes.
