Creating the Ideal Installer Prospect
Manchester based, Absolute Windows has been offering
the Supalite roofing system, under the company’s
branded name ‘roof2roof ’ for just over three years, and
the impact the new system has had on both the business
and sales has been somewhat of a phenomenon.
»»James Dance, managing
director tells how he considers solid roofing
systems a breakthrough for the conservatory
replacement market and how installers
should take advantage of the roof system to
open up more sales opportunities.
Absolute Windows started manufacturing
casement windows and entrance doors in
2005, using Synseal Legend 70mm profile.
The company quickly grew its window
market to include a range of tilt and turn,
vertical sliding windows as well as casement
windows.
Absolute Windows is based, frontal
facing on to the East Lancaster Road, just
off the M60. A busy and very popular route
leading into the heart of Manchester. The
business has taken advantage of the passing
traffic (audience) and built several life size
conservatories and orangery structures
on the site to help attract the attention of
domestic and trade enquiries.
This method has proved to be extremely
successfully over years and has allowed
James and his team the opportunity to
become creative in their offering. With the
launch of its conservatory roof system in
2012, the team were able to show on its
trade counter – a conservatory structure
built on the side of the factory – their tiled
roof system.
James explains: “Being a trade fabricator,
we wanted to create somewhere for our
customers to show the end-user our products.
Utilising the space we have at the front of
our buildings has achieved this allowing us
to show our ever changing product offering
and given us the chance to create leads from
passing trade, to pass back to the customers.
“When we introduced Supalite
conservatory tiled roofing system to our
range three years ago we wanted to have
a means of showing the system in a live
situation, and now three years on we can
actually show customers how the system is
performing.”
The Supalite roofing system offers a
certified, safe and energy efficient solution
for existing and new conservatories. With
no limitations on the style options available,
the system can achieve up to a U-value of
0.18W/m2K. Its lightweight aluminium
system confidently fits on to the conservatory
structure providing a strong and energy
effective base to overlay the roofing tiles.
‘The choices
available for
installers to offer
the homeowner
are vast and our
staff and I are
always on hand to
be of assistance’
The system holds a multitude of unique
selling points, ranging from; a selection of
highly-durable roofing tile styles and colours,
an option of internal ceiling finishes and sky
lights with central pivoting to allow strategic
positioning whilst in an open position.
James continues: “The Supalite roofing
system has opened up further opportunities
for our business since its launch, being able to
offer to both new and retro-fit markets, but
can also offer benefits to our customers.
“We give our installers complete support,
through training, guidance on measuring
up and installing a roof system and help to
overcome any technical or building regulation
issues on new builds. The choices available
for installers to offer the homeowner are vast
and our staff and I are always on hand to be of
assistance if and when it’s needed.
“Fitting our Supalite roof system offers
installers an opportunity to revisit older
conservatories. Most existing conservatory
users will have experienced the effects our
climate can befall on us and will know the
pitfalls of trying to use their glass construction
in certain times of the year.
“In my opinion, this is a ready-made sales
prospect for the system and installers can,
with our support, market the system to the
homeowner with the confidence they will be
offering a solution for an all-year round living
area.” adds James.
