Greener
Credentials
Granada Secondary Glazing,
the UK’s leading manufacturer
of bespoke secondary
glazing, has restructured and
rebranded in order to provide
greater emphasis on its trade
offering and green credentials.
»»A new purpose-built website
- www.granadaglazing.com - will help
drive enquiries to trade distributors whilst
highlighting the sustainable qualities of
its timber, aluminium and glass-based
products.
A new sister-business, Granada
Architectural has been spun off to focus on
corporate projects, after 15 years of trading as
a division of Granada Secondary Glazing.
Granada Marketing Manager, Pat
McMahon, says the new approach is aimed at
bringing a stronger trade focus, delivering a
more distinctive image and a clearer message
to end users:
“We have a very well-respected product
range, with superb green credentials. Not
only does our windows reduce energy bills
and carbon footprints, they’re made from
recyclable materials and encourage renovation
over replacement. We are also entering our
second year as a recently acquired business,
and after a period of reflection we feel the time
is right to raise our profile, highlighting our
strong values and performance.
“Our aim with the new website is to be
more precise about the benefits of choosing
Granada Glazing,” adds Pat. “Likewise, the
re-brand and restructure is helping us to focus
our efforts on the features, like noise reduction
and condensation control, that our customers
tell us makes a real difference.
“It’s not just about sustainable materials
and practicing what we preach,” concludes
Pat. “It’s about manufacturing products at
affordable prices, and making the quotation
process as clear and simple as possible, to allow
customers to maximise their energy-saving
potential.”

Calulating
Acoustic Values
»»Guardian Industries’
Glass Group, a leading supplier
of industry-leading commercial,
residential and interior glass
products has introduced the
latest version (2.0) of its Acoustic
Calculator, an industry tool
that helps glass and building
professionals identify the best
insulating glass unit (IGU)
configuration to meet a project’s
specific glazing requirements.
This latest version, available
free of charge, now offers access
to more than 37,000 calculated
acoustic values, including octave
band centre frequencies from 125
to 4,000 hz, and provides the
acoustic performance for some of
the most obscure insulating glass
unit configurations.
The different types of glass
covered by the Acoustic Calculator
include standard float glass,
laminated glass and Guardian
LamiGlass® Sound Control.
The new Acoustic Calculator
2.0 is part of Guardian Plus, a
business support programme for
the glass and glazing industry
within the UK and Ireland, that
offers online support ranging
from instant responses to
technical enquiries to in-house
or external training in glass and
glass-related topics.
