»»Often a fire door is
the first line of defence against a
fire and using the right products
and materials can mean the
difference between life and death.
All of the products in UAP’s
Salamander Firecheck range use
the most cutting-edge materials
and are made with fire durability
in mind. Ke eping both you and
your property safe!
Products that
keep you safe
UAP take fire safety seriously.
They believe a door is more than
just a door; it is an engineered
safety device. The revolutionary
Fire Resistant door hardware has
been designed with this in mind,
preventing the spread of fire through
a door for at least one hour.
Mark Rushton, UAP
Operations Manager, says: “All of
our products in the Salamander
range have been quality and fire
tested to make sure they are as
safe and effective as possible.”
National statistics have
shown that over 61% of fire
doors inspected in the UK had
problems with fire or smoke seals.
UAP is eager to provide patented
products which demonstrate
safety features needed in every
home and workplace.
Showing the
door to fire
Who knew the importance
of a closed door? Open doors,
especially fire doors have been
recognised as the most common
fire safety fault in the UK. It
has been proven that by keeping
vital fire doors closed, the spread
of both fire and smoke can
significantly slow down.
UAP’s door-closers are just one
of the many products that have
the patented one hour Firecheck
trademark, making keeping you
safe even easier. Fire tested to BS
EN 1634 for FD60 timber doors
and FD240 steel doors, this size
three architectural door-closer,
will keep doors shut and you
safe.
There is a full range of
Firecheck products from
cylinders to spyholes, door
handles to door knockers and
even chains and door guards.
Meaning nothing on your door
is left unchecked and there is no
excuse for fire to spread.

What is fire resistant
door hardware?
UAP’s Firecheck products
include pioneering features
which slow down the speed in
which a fire can travel through a
door. Intumescent lining is used,
which has the unique ability to
expand against heat which has
radiated directly from a fire. The
intumescent lining expands to
50 times its size, sealing any gaps
in the door hardware. It is also
activated at five degrees lower
than any other intumescent
available, meaning that the gaps
are sealed faster and less smoke is
able to get through the door.
The non-heat absorbing
washers hold the doors attaching
metal fittings. They are extremely
important, forming part of the
hour patent, acting as a heat
break, keeping the metals screws
away from the plastic and in turn
the heat.
Mark explained: “The
Salamander Firecheck system
covers FD30 and FD60 fire doors,
so the whole range of fire doors
can use them. One product is all
you need, this will cover the lot.
We want to provide quality and
affordable products; something
innovative and at good value.”
A majority of the Salamander
Firecheck products including
door viewers and Framemaster
letterplates have been awarded
the prestigious ‘Secured by
Design’ seal of approval from
the Association of Chief Police
Officers. This makes them the
very best products to protect both
people and property.
Safety and style
Aside from being ultra-safe and
extremely affordable, all of UAP’s
products are made with the finest
materials and to the highest style
specifications, so there’ll be no
need to choose between safety
and style. The entire range of
Firecheck door hardware comes
ergonomically designed to the
highest quality and finished to
your personal stipulation.
