FROMTHEEDITOR Stephanie, Clearview Editor I speak to many companies within the building and fenestration industry and it always pleases me to learn that the uncertainties we experience from the last recession and the recent elections of a new Government, appear to be dwindling in to the distance. »»We have many entrepreneurs still out there and after riding the storm of the last recession it’s good to see that investment is again taking place into new and existing businesses across the industry. One such like company is ColouredPlas, a colour paint and spraying company, based in Bury and set up twelve months ago. Allan Moores, managing director discussed with me the innovative ideas he has about promoting his business in a way which offers fabricators and installers more than just painting and spraying services and will help his business grow nationally (read more on page 56). I was cordially invited to the GGF member’s day at the Glazier Building, Tower Bridge, London last month, to take part in the trade organisations morning presentations and a press conference. After greeting a few familiar industry faces, it was refreshing to see some of the new initiatives taking place within the organisation. The GGF has in recent months, set about bringing onboard industry guru’s to help advise and facilitate marketing and operational steering groups. I have to say that this is showing due diligence and during the presentation the GGF launched one of its new marketing initiatives - a new consumer website – MyGlazing.com. The site will hopefully offer consumers further wealth and understanding of the fenestration industry and give them the opportunity to make constructive decisions on the products and services they decide to use.
