INDUSTRYNEWS Getting to grips with Document Q »»Document Q, the latest addition to Building Regulations come into force on 1 October 2015. Recognising that many fabricators and installers will be uncertain about what the new legislation entails, leading hardware company the Trojan Group has launched an easy-to-understand guide to the hardware aspect of the legislation and what needs to be done to comply. Tony Chadwick, Trojan’s Group Managing Director, said: “Document Q sounds like a big change, but that isn’t necessarily true. Many companies will find that their products already meet the requirements of the legislation. If that’s the case, our leaflet will give them peace of mind they’re compliant.” In essence, the new legislation requires all windows and doorsets to meet the requirements of PAS 24: 2014 or other similar standards (which are all listed in Document Q). Tony says: “Security is of paramount importance in hardware products, so many items in our range already meet the requirements of the legislation.” Choosing your supplier with care is something that we all know is important. This is proved yet again in this case. Not only is the Trojan Group already ahead of the game, it’s also produced valuable guidance to help customers and prospective customers get to grips with the new legislation. In short, it’s the perfect hardware partner! 1988 and Ian has always been a popular customer.
