Fun With Top Trumps
»»TRUFRAME HAS TAKEN UP A ‘TOP
Trumps’ inspired promotion – with a number
of packs of cards distributed to installation
companies in key geographical areas,
promoting different products, departments,
people and systems.
Presented in red foil envelopes the 54card deck is already generating considerable
interest, as TruFrame look to break the 4,000
frame per week barrier in the months to
come.
Simon Box, marketing manager of
TruFrame commented: “The Top Trumps
inspired theme not only carries important
marketing and corporate messages, but is
a fun and engaging way of doing it. Like
everything we do at TruFrame we like to add
a little creativity, with a polished execution.”
Paul Tranter, sales director concluded:
“We’re actively looking for key accounts to
add to our network of installation partners,
that we can work closely with. Our hand
finished product range and support services
are there to help nurture customers and to
help them really excel in their respective
markets.’

MANIC THREE DAYS
»»DURING THE COURSE
of September 2016, shaped and
arched frame specialist, Universal
Arches, experienced a record
order intake of 350 frames in just
three days, with sales calendar
year to date up 11%.
With many industry
commentators assessing the
implications of any post-Brexit
fears, this impressive statistic
from Universal Arches is another
indicator that the industry is
quickly recovering from the
headache of the referendum.
For many fabricators, 350
frames in three days is par for
the course, but the very fact
that Universal Arches carefully
manufactures each frame by hand,
much like the timber joinery
market, makes these numbers
quite staggering.
Leon Day, managing director of
Universal Arches commented: “350
frames is an incredible statistic. But
what’s arguably more impressive is
the way in which we can cope with
such demand, as we look to build
the business further.
“I believe the shaped frame
sector is in a good position at
present, as we’ve still a large
number of first generation timber
products that are yet to be replaced.
In effect, we’re considerably behind
on the product life cycle than the
market for typical square frames
and so the medium term prospects
for us are very good.”

Demanding hospital renovation
»»DONCASTER-BASED AK GLASS AND
Glazing has recently completed a demanding
project at a specialist rehabilitation hospital in
Cheadle, Stoke on Trent.
Director Ian Gelantly, who was part of
the installation team, along with contractors
Pacey & Wheatley, explains: “A total of six
Anti Ligature Matrix 70 casement windows
and three aluminium doors were installed,
complete with safety glass. The results
are stylish and easy on the eye, while also
providing the essential safety features that are
required wherever there is a risk of self harm.
The window restrictors can be limited to
prescribed requirements to meet the needs and

guidelines of today’s NHS and private sector
provider guidelines.”
Peter Smith, sales manager for Glazerite
adds: “The mental health sector is a specialised
one and requires some very specific products
to guarantee the safety and needs of the health
providers and its patients. The Woodhouse
Hospital provides specialist treatment and
rehabilitation for men and women with
learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and
ASD/autism spectrum conditions, in small
gender-specific units.”
