doors&windows sponsored by [email protected] A leap of faith West Yorkshire based Whiterose Windows Limited is a specialist bifolding and patio door manufacturer. »»The company use Smart Architectural’s aluminium profile system, alongside the flourishing Liniar PVCu profile to produce a complete portfolio of fabricated products from windows to bespoke bi-folding doors. Despite continuing rising manufacturing costs, the company take pride in remaining loyal to its customer base by, so far, refusing to increase the price of its products. Tony Smith, owner and director of White Rose Windows, first decided to start manufacturing the Liniar bifold plus door system because at the time the system offered something new and different to anything else that existed on the market. He identified an opportunity in the PVCu market in 2010 and thought it was a vast improvement on the first generation bi-fold doors. Originally manufacturing Liniar’s bi-fold plus door system, the company then moved to Liniar’s more specialised system, ModLok™ in 2014, and now produce a bi-folding door and patio door using this elite system. ModLok™ is a new generation, structural door system, defined as a high-end bi-folding door system offering even greater strength and rigidity, combined with the structural benefits of an aluminium doorset and high energy e fficiency of PVCu. For greater thermal effectiveness, the Liniar ModLok™ bi-folding range can be fitted with triple glazing, reaching a U-value of 1.0 W/m²K, allowing consumers to enjoy a warmer and quieter home as well as lower energy bills. A wide range of colours and finishes are available, alongside traditional white, cream, oak and rosewood as standard. The company supplies various coloured handles and hinges, tailored to suit customer’s requirements. Tony comments: “We have had fantastic success manufacturing Liniar’s ModLok™, and with the recent introduction of the ModLok™ patio door system into our product range we can now offer more options than ever. Liniar ModLok™ patio doors are ergonomically designed with effortless opening mechanism and fitted with Liniar’s revolutionary multi-wheeled ‘air glide’ system, meaning the door is perfectly balanced as it moves along its track.” Tony continues: “We could see the potential in the bespoke system and with the PVCu market being stagnant at the time, we decided to bite the bullet 46 » N OV 2015 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M and take a chance; a chance that paid off!” Designed for modern living, the Liniar ModLok™ door is one of the most secure patio doors money can buy. Liniar’s patented ModLok™ modular locking mechanism is built in to the frame, delivering unparalleled strength combined with the highest levels of security. Although the quality of both the bi-fold doors and the patio doors has increased, meaning the cost of the doors to the company has increased; Whiterose Windows refuse to put up its prices. The company claims that, even though freezing its prices will give it less profit margin, the products still remain competitive and as a result, more people come to them and keep coming back! In 2012, adding another string to its bow, White Rose Windows began to manufacture Smart Architectural’s aluminium profile system, once again specializing in the Visofold 1000 bi-fold door, but gradually expanding so that they now offer a full range of windows, doors and patios, not only catering for the domestic market but also the commercial market too. This was a total leap of faith into the aluminium sector for White Rose Windows. “We began to experience growing demand for aluminium fabricated products and needed to make a decision about if we should manufacture or buy-in. Like any Yorkshire man if there’s a quid to be made we’ll go out and get it! Seriously though, we identified the opportunity to manufacture an aluminium system, which we knew had already got a reputation for quality and strength. We charge competitive prices, we’re not greedy; we would rather sell more at lower prices, than less at higher profit margins and we do all this without sacrificing on quality.” Tony concluded.
