33% of consumers looking for a conservatory

“The market for conservatories in the UK
peaked in 2006 at just under 240,000 units
with a retail value of £1.8bn. But the decline
in conservatory sales started well before
the start of the 2008 recession suggesting
that the popularity of the conservatory had
already begun to wane. We know through our
own research amongst home improvers that
the single biggest objection to conservatory
ownership is the perceived lack of temperature
control, while it’s broadly accepted that a
conservatory is a cost effective and hassle
free way to add single storey living space to a
