This was the decision, Mark
Walley, managing director and
co-directors; Craig Turner,
Mike Moulding and James
Tyldesley made in April 2014,
establishing Ideal Aluminium
Systems Limited, in Radcliffe,
Manchester.
Their former employer, a
large commercial aluminium
fabricator, had been a victim
of the recession and went into
administration in February
2014.

fund the management buyout
(MBO) and development
capital to meet increasing sales
demand. The MBO is led by
Managing Director Sean Ballard
and former CEO of Anglian
Home Improvements, Peter
Mottershead, who is joining
the board as Non-Executive
Chairman.
The Heritage Window
Company, founded by Geoff
Dolan in 2000, is the only
British company to craft slim
style aluminium framed windows
under the Benenden™ range,
which featured in Channel 4’s
The Grand Designs Art Deco
House Project in 2007.
Sean Ballard is leading the
MBO, having joined the business
in early 2012 as Managing
Director increasing sales by 25%
to £6.2m. As part of the MBO,
Philip Maskell, Finance Director
at GTK, another YFM Equity
Partners portfolio company
will join The Heritage Window
They decided to work
in the commercial sector,
manufacturing aluminium
windows, doors, shop fronts
and curtain walling for retail,
leisure and education projects.
Mark was familiar with
machines from elumatec and
knew they were easy to use. He
recommended the company
purchased a start-up package
from elumatec UK, comprising
of; The DG79 double mitre
saw, an AS70/20 copy router
& the EP120 crimper. The
machines offer the use of
multiple aluminium systems;
Ideal currently manufactures
products from Technal and
Senior Architectural Systems
(SAS).
Mark said: “We started Ideal
by looking to the future, we are
confident we made the right
choices in all aspects of our
new venture and have quickly
settled into planning for Ideal’s
expansion.”

Leading architectural aluminium systems supplier Kawneer has
relaunched its website to make it even more intuitive for users.

streamlined to make it more user friendly
