GLASSTECREVIEW The Value of International Exhibiting to UK Manufacturers »»UK warm edge spacer bar manufacturer and IG component distributer, Thermoseal Group once again exhibited at the Glasstec Exhibition – stand C19 in Hall 17 at the Messe Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre - 21-24th October 2014. The Group’s marketing manager, Samantha Hill tells Clearview magazine why the exhibition remains important to the Group’s promotional strategy. “In 2010, the first of our Thermobar warm edge spacer bars came off our brand new production line in our purposebuilt spacer bar manufacturing facility in Wigan. Since then, Thermoseal Group has invested over £5 million in this facility including: setting up our own innovation centre; developing bespoke machinery; hiring skilled staff and developing the overall infrastructure of the business to store, transport and supply large volumes of spacer bar. This has since enabled us to increase capacity of production whilst researching and developing additional production facilities to manufacture Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacer. We are now the only UK manufacturer to develop both a flexible and rigid spacer bar systems in-house. In addition, we have also up-scaled our injection moulding division to manufacture all of our own warm edge accessories including: corner keys; gas keys; duplex fittings; interbar and fittings and a variety of Georgian accessories. We are growing fast!” “It has always been Thermoseal Group’s aim to be the largest supplier of IG components in the world and it is only our capacity to produce products which has so far inhibited our growth in this market. This has been a great position to be in as we have had a continual waiting list for our spacer bars since the day we began to manufacture. However, we have now increased our production capacity and are now in a position to supply further afield. It is for this reason we have taken on a European Sales Manager and feel that it is the right time to increase our promotion in Europe. The Glasstec exhibition is an ideal platform for this promotion. This is the best exhibition for our market in Europe and we use this as an opportunity to meet up with our current UK customers as well as building our customer base within the European market. We hosted a party on the Wednesday evening of the event at “The Thermobar” (alias McLoughlin’s Irish Pub) in the Altstadt for our customers and guests with over 100 guests fro m within the UK and Europe, which is credit to the overall pull of the Glasstec exhibition. We are really looking forward to finally being able to supply IG components to many European customers who have been on our production waiting list for Thermobar and Thermoflex warm edge spacers.” “We took a 50m² exhibition stand where we had our own bar and meeting room to entertain our guests, as well as an open reception area with touchscreen tv to demonstrate our comprehensive product range which is fully accessible through our fully interactive website. In addition, we had a demonstrator on our stand showing the new Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacer System and how it is used to manufacture insulated glass sealed units on our Thermoflex Air Float Table and fed from our own Thermoflex Reel Stand.”
