Producing Products
for a Growing Trend
If there was an unrivalled testimonial to the way the market has seen huge growth of
coloured products for the building and homeowner markets, it is that of how Yorkshire
based, PVCu, glass and metal colour coating providers Kolorseal has more recently had
to acquire and relocate to larger premises to enable them to expand its operation
and cater for the current and continuing growth of demand for coloured products.

year of trading, has seen growth year-on-year
since establishing the business and over the
last few years with the highly publicised offer
of coloured improvement glazing products,
the company has continued to reinvest and
develop its productivity, eventually taking the
decision to move and relocate; making it one
of the largest investments the company has
undertaken to date.
Managing director, Debbie Hendry, takes
up the story and talks to Clearview about
the decision to make the move and how she
feels this cements the future for Kolorseal in
continuing to offer high quality products and
efficient service.
“Kolorseal was one of the original pioneers
in promoting colour coated glazing products
for the industry, and this is still the case today.
Colour is one of possibly, the fastest growing
sectors of the window and conservatory
market currently, and demand for colour
products continues to grow as consumers
seek more and more individuality for their
homes.
“Our business has been built on colouring
products, but when we first started to
experience this phenomenon from end-users
demanding building and glazing products
in colour schemes other than white, it
was evident that the demand was going to
continue to grow and we needed to build
on our current business to offer services and

products that could meet this unprecedented
shift.
“Continuing higher demand for the services
we offer has inevitably put a strain on our
efficiencies within the business, and although
this had never impacted on our customers, it
was clear to us as a business that we needed
to look at improving efficiencies of our
production flow to support this demand.

for the company’
“The business moved to its new premises on
1st February, this year. The new site, which is
located within one mile from our original site,
took the business months to implement with a
price tag of over £100,000.
“Being independently owned this has been
a big deal to us, but we know that the move
will cement our future for the company,
our employees and customers, giving us the
capabilities to cater for demands in trends and
the development of more modern buildings
and homes.
“The new site has been structured in order
to increase production efficiencies, and houses
three much larger spray booths and drying
facilities to cater for both larger products and
higher volumes of products.

“With the introduction of the new facilities,
we are in a position to take on further capacity
for new customers and new markets. New
space and machinery has been implemented to
allow for better production flow throughout
the process.” Debbie adds.
Kolorseal colour a wide range of building
and glazing products including; frames, doors,
composite doors, roofs and rooflines, but also
offer a bespoke colour coating on glass, wood
and metal.
Debbie continues: “The business has always
provided a standard seven day turn-round on
all our coated products and this continues to
stand as an industry ‘norm’. However, it is
also possible for us to accommodate ‘urgent’
jobs when needed for customers who are
experiencing problems.
“We are conscious that during the
move, some of our customers were slightly
affected by our policy to ensure a seven day
turnaround, and we wish to thank all those
who may have experienced any issues and let
them know that we are now ‘back on track’
and looking forward to working with them on
the many coloured projects.”
The new site also accommodates Kolorseal’s
one-stop trade centre, which offers a well
stocked range of value products, with a
nationwide delivery.
