FIT SHOW 2016 ROOFING MASTERCLASS »»Prefix Systems came away from the FIT Show with literally hundreds of leads as it presented new product innovations for the extended living space market - while also celebrating its 20th year in business in what was a roofing and glazing masterclass. The company came away with 352 qualified enquiries and a further 207 business cards from its champagne prize draw, while literature was presented to stand visitors in the thousands. The show was the perfect platform to launch the range of WARMroof systems, based on the construction standard of ‘warm roof’ design. On show was a hybrid WARMroof with fixed triple glazed panels. It was supported by the Opus composite window and door system, which harnessed an obsidian black aluminium exterior, with luxurious real hardwood to the inside. Leading into the central feature through the Opus bi-folding doors was a IX250 ‘warm roof’ orangery which incorporated an ultraSKY lantern featuring Opus hardwood rafters on the inside and glazed with SMARTGLASS Dynamic, powered by SageGlass. This is an electrochromic switchable glass now available in various modular lantern sizes in 7-10 days. A new to the market verandah system was also a real eye catcher, offering a periodinspired design in a crackle black finish and also available in a more contemporary offering, forming part of the Prefix ‘Outdoor Living’ collection. Elsewhere on the stand was a new URBANroom with aluminium bi-folding doors, a deep section gutter shroud, loggia posts and internal pelmet. The Residence Collection in the form of R7 with square glazing beads supported a premium conservatory offering and further interest in side frame glazing came in the form of a new slimmer sliding door solution from Smart Systems. The Clearview rooflight also added to the range of roofing solutions with key features such as triple glazing as standard, large span capabilities and a unique drainage solution. www.prefixsystems.co.uk TIMBERFABRICATOROPENSDOORS »»Yorkshire-based fabricator Dempsey Dyer is celebrating an upsurge in leads and business enquiries after the FIT Show, where it stood out as the only timber fabricator. Respected for its dedication to craftsmanlike quality and its versatility, Dempsey Dyer offers one of the most diverse portfolios in UK glass and glazing, spanning PVCu as well as timber. The company’s stand was located alongside that of its PVCu systems company Deceuninck. Dempsey’s longestablished timber range was represented by a premium-quality door, made from ethically-sourced West African hardwood and modelled after 10 Downing Street’s iconic front entrance. A timber vertical slider also featured, equipped with spiral balances, traditional ironmongery and tilt-in facility for easy cleaning. The company’s signature Beaumont window was designed to marry Dempsey Dyer’s extensive expertise in both PVCu and timber fabrication. The featured model was finished with colours from Deceuninck’s new Heritage foil range, English oak on the outside, classic heritage white on the inside. “The fact we’ve been every ye ar so far shows how highly we value the FIT Show,” said managing director Peter Dyer. “It’s a hugely important platform for us, allowing us to increase brand awareness among the most influential figures in the industry, win new business, and gauge the mood of glass and glazing as a whole. “We’re currently working through a long list of leads and new contacts that came out of the show.” www.dempseydyer.co.uk 30 » JUN 2016 » CL EARVI E W- UK .
