After my recent visit to the Grand Design show, ExCel, London, I
was delighted to see an array of Fenestration companies exhibiting
and flying the flag for the industry at the consumer based show.
One particularly stand which
caught my attention, was that
of Irish composite doorset
manufacturer, Apeer. However to
my surprise, there was hardly a
composite door in sight, because
instead, the company had decided
to use the show to platform its
radically different, new window
system, Lumi Collection. In my
opinion, the new system is a star
in the making, as you’ll read from
the article on page 36, according
to the response it looks like
consumers think so too!
Masco UK Window Group
appear to be having a busy
time, with the launch of its new
Meridian composite door range
(see front cover), from recently
acquired Phoenix Doors and
with get another acquisition;
alternative-timber manufacturer,
Evolution Manufacturing. The
acquisition is part of the Groups’
strategy to strengthen its position
as an industry leader and offer
customer even further choice
from its portfolio of companies,
read more on page 10.
This month’s special feature is
‘Hardware and Security Extra’.
It’s nice to see further moves in
this side of the industry, including
VITA Hardware offering us a
new durable coating system,
PorcelTM, which is reportedly
performing exceptionally,
compared to other hardware
coatings on the market.
And finally, I would like to
congratulate, Becky Taylor, Editor
for Clearview and Pro Installer
until she recently left to have her
first child, on the birth of her
second
child. Dawson James Taylor was
born on the 3rd May, weighing
8lb 9.5oz, after a surprisingly
quick labor which led to Becky’s
partner Craig, delivering the baby
in the living room at home. W V
