Rolltech has rolled out some extra help in designing and manufacturing IG units with ever more powerful performance , capable of improving the energy efficiency of a building while complying with international standards . The WinUw calculator is the new app developed by the Glass Alliance network company , and available in the App Store for Apple devices and in the Google Play Store for Android , making it easier to quickly calculate the U-value of window and door frames and insulating glass units .
This innovative and handy software calculates thermal transmittance of IG units starting with the different spacer profiles in use . After downloading the WinUw app , all you need to do is input some data to get the Psi value for all standard-sized window and door frames created with profiles from the Glass Alliance , the international network composed of Fenzi , Alu-Pro and Rolltech , for worldwide distribution of a vast range of products for manufacturing ultra-high performance IG units .

NEW BASE SHOE HITS MARKET

C . R . LAURENCE INTRODUCED THE new 9BL base shoe for its TAPER-LOC ® Frameless Glass Balustrade System at The FIT Show earlier this year .
TAPER-LOC ® standard base shoe was introduced to the market a couple of years ago and , says the company , has been very successful so far . According to the business , the system is 50 % faster to install than traditional alternatives .
For toughened / laminated glass from 12mm-25.52mm thick , it is a dry glaze system , with no need for cement . It is tested to meet the strictest building code requirements BS6180:2011 , CEBTP and AbZ .
A spokeswoman for C . R . Laurence said : “ The product is unique because it uses a horizontal TAPER-LOC ® design , which allows the system to be adjusted , dismantled and re-set . It is ideal for replacing scratched and broken panels in existing applications .”
The new 9BL base shoe has the same features and more . It is designed and engineered for 2015 IBC code changes and is , says the company , the only laminated system pursuing ICC-ES approval . It is for laminated toughened glass from 13.52mm to 21.52mm thick , is 30 % lighter than standard base shoe , and meets and exceeds 90kg load with a 4x safety factor .
