25,000 SQ FT DEDICATED BI-FOLD FACTORY OPENS

A NEW 25,000 SQ FT factory has opened its doors and is one of the biggest dedicated bi-folding doors operations in the UK .
The opening of the new factory represents a major milestone for family run TWR Bifolds and reaffirms its commitment to be the number one aluminium bi-fold supplier in the industry .
The factory has been fitted out with state of the art machinery required for the production of aluminium bi-folds .
The site in Peterlee , County Durham , is in addition to TWR ’ s long-standing headquarters and original factory in Sunderland .
It is a major investment for TWR that has significantly increased its manufacturing capacity .
Managing Director , Terry Richardson , comments : “ We have seen a year-on-year increase of orders and we felt the time was right to kick our manufacturing up a gear . The investment shows we are serious about growth and our customer ’ s growth and we can now manufacture and supply increased volumes of quality aluminium bi-folds on an incredibly fast lead time .”
Earlier this year , TWR Bifolds launched its new premium fast-track service that allows installers to achieve a three working day turnaround on aluminium bi-fold doors – subject to conditions .

ALUMEN , THE LEADING SMART and Schueco aluminium fabricator , is getting creative with its recently launched range of rooflights by manufacturing a unique octagon rooflight from its Helios range .
Alan Robinson , Alumen ’ s Managing Director , says :“ We are getting a lot of enquiries for something a bit different and unique . We love a challenge and this bespoke request gave us the perfect chance to test the capabilities of the Helios design .
“ The Helios is the contemporary square rooflight with a raised chamfered edge . Available as fixed or with a smooth chain operated manual or electric opener , the options
on size and shape are endless . This project required us to fabricated the rooflight into an octagon shape to form the centre of the roof in a garden pavilion . The pavilion , part of a hand carved Cotswold stone building in a courtyard of outbuildings , will be used to hold chamber music concerts amongst other events .
“ The rooflight itself was large spanning 2387mm and weighing nearly 200Kg . It had to be lifted into place using glass lifters and a crane , and despite the unpredictable weather we have been experiencing , was installed according to plan .”
