NEW SLIM MEETING RAIL FURTHER IMPROVES MARKET LEADING SASH WINDOW

With its slim , graceful lines and understated elegance , the classic vertical-sliding sash window never seems to go out of style . The first vertical sliders were made from timber and were hand-crafted by specialist joinery companies , but today they are widely available in PVCu as well as aluminium .

WHILE MODERN PVCU SASH windows offer many advantages over their timber cousins ; they ’ re easier to maintain , more energy efficient and not nearly as expensive - very rarely have they matched timber on the aesthetics front .
Bulky frames , bolt on sash horns and badly fitting astragal bars have all contributed to making the PVCu sash window look like the poor relation to timber , and it ’ s these ugly features that have proven unpopular with conservation officers , architects and consumers alike .
But not all PVCu sash windows lack on the beauty front . Since 1985 , specialist fabricator , Roseview Windows , has made its mission to create a product that not only outperforms timber from a practical perspective , but one that looks just as good .
Over the years , Roseview has continued to invest heavily in research and development ( R & D ), and its hard work culminated in 2013 with the launch of its flagship product , the Ultimate Rose . Incorporating full mechanical joints , external putty lines , traditional sash furniture and the iconic Roseview run-through sash horn , the Ultimate Rose is widely regarded as the best PVCu sash window on the market today . It has been cleared for use in some of the country ’ s most sensitive areas and was awarded a coveted G-Award in 2013 , in recognition of its incredible attention to detail .
It was widely assumed that the Ultimate Rose couldn ’ t get any better until Roseview unveiled something unexpected at the FIT Show – a new , improved and even more authentic Ultimate Rose . It ’ s always been the fabricator ’ s forensic attention to detail that sets the Ultimate Rose apart from the competition – and , unsurprisingly , it ’ s the exceptional vintage detailing that distinguishes the newest iteration from the original .
Thanks to a new meeting rail profile , specifically designed for the upgraded Ultimate Rose , Roseview has eliminated the tell-tale interlock line that identifies even the most authentic products as PVCu not timber . The standard Ultimate Rose meeting rail was already exceptionally slim , delivering a timber-like elegance that no other vintage-effect window could match – but now , it ’ s even slimmer . By taking off an extra 9.5mm , Roseview has achieved the slimmest meeting rail on the market and a window that looks noticeably closer to a timber original than even the original Ultimate Rose .
On top of all that , the new Ultimate Rose delivers all the performance benefits of its illustrious predecessor , coming CE marked , fully compliant with Part Q and PAS24:2012 , ‘ A ’ -rated as standard , and able to achieve both Secured by Design and Lifetime Homes accreditation on request .
Roseview Marketing Manager , Mike Bygrave , comments : “ It may not sound like an earth-shattering development , but reducing the width of the meeting rail and eliminating the interlock line has made a world of difference to the overall aesthetics of the window . This was very apparent at the FIT Show , when a large number of visitors to our stand thought the Ultimate Rose was made from timber and were genuinely surprised when they found out it was manufactured using PVCu profile . We ’ ve experienced incredible demand since the FIT Show and we ’ re expecting this to increase over the coming months .”
If demand does increase as Mike expects , Roseview has the capacity to accommodate . Last year the fabricator opened a second factory to concentrate on the more skilled ‘ carpentry ’ processes , such as mechanically jointing frames and polishing welds , freeing up space in the main 30,000 square foot factory for cutting and prepping . “ We noticed a trend for more conservation style windows some time ago and decided we wanted to open a dedicated factory for this type of product ,” Mike explained . “ We are currently making around 600 windows per week but the new factory has given us room to significantly scale up .”
Mike is keen to point out that the new slim meeting rail was designed by Roseview , not any of its suppliers . “ It was a big investment on our part , but now we have a market leading meeting rail that ’ s exclusive to Roseview and gives our trade customers another selling point over the competition . We innovate and manufacture while others simply assemble .”
