INDUSTRYNEWS Celebrating 30 year partnership »»THE FIT SHOW MARKED AN exceptionally proud moment for both REHAU and its customer, Dessian Products, as the two companies celebrated a remarkable 30-year partnership. REHAU’s UK Chief Executive, Martin Hitchin, presented Dessian’s Managing Director, Nigel Bothwell, with a certificate and engraved trophy to mark the occasion on the REHAU stand at the show. Martin said: “We have been supplying Dessian since 1986 when both businesses, and indeed the whole industry, looked very different to how it looks now. We’ve supported each other through some difficult times and celebrated together in some great times, and I’m delighted that our partnership remains as strong as ever. “REHAU and Dessian are certainly now two of the strongest names in the industry and we’re continuing to look forward and plan for future campaigns and initiatives together.” Nigel agreed: “The Dessian brand is synonymous with REHAU. We also share the same commitment to quality and service and it continues to be a very mutually beneficial partnership.” Nigel and the team from Dessian were visiting the FIT show to see what was new in the industry and had particular interest in REHAU’s new AGILA range, especially the new AGILA sliding door. www.rehau.uk MOVING AND IMPROVING »»INCREASED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY transactions in the UK is driving demand for home improvement products and services. The UK Property Transactions Count, published in March 2016 by the HM Revenue and Customs, shows that the residential property transaction completions with a value of £40,000 or above peaked in March 2016, reaching 161,990 compared with 91,490 in March 2015. Jeremy Brett, Managing Director of the Consumer Protection Association (CPA), says the increase in properties exchanging hands is creating profitable opportunities for builders and installers. He comments: “Most people spruce up their homes before a sale and after a purchase and this can range anywhere from having new windows and doors fitted to complete refurbishments of kitchens and bathrooms. “This is good news for builders and installers of these home improvement products as the rising number of property transactions means more home improvement projects being carried out.” However, Jeremy urges homeowners looking to have home improvement work carried out to seek a reputable and professional tradesman: “Companies listed under approved tradesmen schemes, such as the CPA, are qualified for the job and can offer Insurance Backed Guarantees and Deposit Protection to protect the homeowner should anything go wrong.” www.thecpa.co.uk NEW WEBSITE FOR SASH WINDOW PASSION »»ROSEVIEW WINDOWS, THE specialist sash window fabricator, is marking a triumphant first half of 2016 with the launch of its brand new trade website www.roseview. co.uk. 14 » JUL 2016 » CL EARVI E W- UK .
