Exceeding its
fundraising target
»»After months of
fundraising and training, the
Granfondo Stelvio Santini
cycling challenge arrived for PDS
directors Tim Fairley and Pat
Rice.
The ride took place in
Northern Italy on Sunday 7th
June and was the pair’s first
Granfondo Stelvio Santini cycling
challenge.
The ride, which was 151.3km
long, also entailed the two cycling
up three mountains and was all
done in order to raise funds for
Rochdale based partner charity,
Springhilll Hospice.
Tim and Pat received incredible
support leading up to the event.
In November, they established
a fundraising target of £10k,
and a last minute pledge from
composite door supplier,
Distinction Doors helped to
exceed the fundraising target.
A spokesperson at Springhill
Hospice commented, “Thank you
both from everyone at Springhill,
the patients and their families,
staff, volunteers and supporters
alike. You’re amazing fundraising
will help keep the doors of the
hospice open, best wishes and
thank you.”

Innovative Colour Coating

Whiteline’s
SlimSASH
PVCu Window
Colour
Coated in
Cotswold
Green Finish
adopted a brand new precision colour
coating process that offers a complete
spectrum of durable, consistent colours and
metallic finishes for its full PVCu product
range.
Customers can specify any colour they
choose, by a RAL number or pantone or an
exact match to their own sample, perhaps to
a piece of metal, ceramic, leather or fabric.
Colour choices are infinite, unrestricted by
stock ranges, whilst the system coats plain
PVCu and foiled textures alike, to offer
further tailored options for the ultimate
bespoke windows.
The coating technology is delivered by a
unique, laser-aligned machine. A Programmable
Logic Controller (PLC) drives servo
controllers that synchronise the accurate
positioning and movement of the item being
coated and six independent coating heads,
all at a constant 70mm from the surface.
They deliver the single coat in one pass,
with minimum variability (to an accuracy of
+/- 0.1%), achieving the ultimate in machine
consistency, replicability and quality of the
finish.

»»Specialist bi-fold
door fabricator, TWR Bifolds
has seen sales of its aluminium
products grow 20% over the past
twelve months, with coloured
products largely contributing to
this growth.
Sales of colour and dual

and doors have increased
substantially in the last twelve
months alongside the company’s
core products, pushing up
revenues and profits across the

Directors say that the

boost sales.
Managing Director of TWR
Bifolds, Terry Richardson
comments: “TWR’s growth over
the past year has been sparked
by the recent rise in commercial
projects within the educational
sector, where establishments use
coloured aluminium products.
“It also reflects changing
consumer tastes in the domestic
