The Window Company backs young rugby players The Window Company based in Sale, Greater Manchester, has announced that it is now the official shirt sponsors for its local under 9s rugby team, Sale Scorpions. »»The company owner Wayne Shaw said: “It all came about when a good friend, Scott Bambrick, who is one of the under 9s head coaches, contacted us to see if we would be interested in sponsoring the shirts of the team. “We jumped at the chance to sponsor them as the club has close links with our charity the Alex Hulme Foundation - a children’s cancer charity - and also because they are based in our home town of Sale.” Wayne said the club had a strong community feel about it which came across well at the various events he had attended over the last couple of years. He said: “Whether it’s a charity do or match day, you always feel welcome and part of the club so it was a no brainer. “We are very pleased with how our logo has come out on the shirts and the Sale Scorpions team loves them. They’ve even got coats with our logo on the back, which look awesome when all the team and dads are walking around Heywood Road on match day.” The Window Company has raised more than £6,000 for the Alex Hulme Foundation, the charity set up in memory of a 12-year-old Sale boy who died in 2011. 5 INDUSTRYNEWS , 000 tonnes of recyclate produced each year The company raised a total of £6,022 through a variety of events including a sponsored car wash, gig, and the Greater Manchester Marathon. Wayne said: “We’re delighted to have been able to support this hugely worthwhile and local cause.” ‘this hugely worthwhile and local cause’ He added that the company had already selected Al Amyloidosis as its 2016 charity and that they were “brimming with fundraising ideas.” The Window Company was formed in 1988 by Glen Squire and his family.
