INDUSTRYNEWS White Glove Men Improve Deliveries »»Leading delivery specialists Panther Warehousing has further extended its unique offering after sealing a new contract with a leading UK window and door manufacturer Euramax Solutions Ltd. The Northampton-based logistics provider now delivers a range of PVCu products on behalf of leading DIY retailers – including Wickes and Screwfix – which are all made at Euramax’s new world class operations centre in Barnsley. The dedicated white-glove two-man delivery specialist was awarded the contract in a bid to reduce Euramax’s carbon footprint, improve the supply chain and reduce outlay. The management team at the window and door manufacturer say they are already reaping the rewards of the new partnership – branding Panther’s service as ‘second to none’. Nick Burton, Purchasing Manager of Euramax Solutions Ltd said: “We operate in a similar ethos to Panther – we are very much focused on the public’s perception of our products and services offered. So as a leading UK PVCu window and door manufacturer, maintaining the highest standard of service in everything we do is critical. “We set ourselves very ambitious targets of delivering on time, in full with zero defects and Panther’s service and the way they control the materials is unparalleled. It really is proving to be a perfect partnership for both businesses.” Euramax – which has 65 years of manufacturing excellence – offers a comprehensive range of durable, high quality and energy efficient windows, doors and conservatories in a wide array of different designs and colours – as well as a nationwide network of installers and support engineers. The business previously employed a delivery specialist to warehouse and move bulk freight; this produced a huge carbon footprint travelling back and forth from each base – sometimes four or five times per week. However, Panther has been able to operate from within the new Euramax factory, which is not only helping the environment but also creating generous benefits for the company and its customers. Panther, which delivers around 280 consignments for Euramax each week, is able to offer an unrivalled delivery service – the company’s flexible offering also providing Euramax with the option of a new express two-man white glove delivery service.
