GRANADA SECONDARY GLAZING has recently doubled its floorpace in Dinnington , Sheffield , by adding an additional 20,000 sqft , to make way for a new section bending plant and a new powder coating colour plant . The main benefits of offering a fully in-house service has been to drastically reduce lead times and offer more competitive prices , as Head of Trade Sales , Deborah Beeley , explains .
“ This significant increase in size and widening of our capabilities is a display of our commitment to our customers , in order to embed the trust they have in us ,” she says . “ We are currently testing and commissioning new CNC and bending machinery that will enable us to halve the lead times on arched frames and offer improved aesthetics by eliminating the extra joints previously required .”
Secondary glazing is the process through which a discreet , internal window is fitted to an existing single or double glazed window to enhance performance . Woking in conjunction with single or double glazed windows , secondary glazing offers an increase in acoustic performance often reducing noise breeching the primary windows by up to 80 %. In addition to acoustic performance , secondary glazing reduces heat loss through the primary window system . Secondary glazing is appealing to the heritage property market as home owners would prefer to keep their existing primary timber windows to retain the buildings character and market value .
Deborah continues , “ From the first cut to the last screw , our products are manufactured under one roof , including our bespoke colour service . This gives us tighter control on quality and reduces lead times . The investment in new machinery is part of our quality and service initiative .

Our technical support team has over 20 years ’ experience in the installation of secondary glazing and will go out to site with our trade customers and advise on correct installation . After all , as much as
we stand by the performance and quality of our products , the materials are only as good as the installation allows them to be , so correct installation is essential to protect the integrity of the product .
